The Digital Divide
The digital divide is the gap between individuals who have access to technology and the internet and those who don't. There are many causes that make up the divide. The causes are (but not limited to) lack of infrastructure, economic disparities, age and education, and disability and accessibility. What I found most interesting is that while areas that have access to the technology they're constantly growing and learning whilst areas on the other side of the divide have to struggle and end up falling behind. The divide perpetuates this and keeps communities that are already behind from continuing to grow and catch up. I think we need to lower the costs of tech. For schools or areas that struggle to afford basic infrastructure, having reduced prices will make it easier to invest in updated technology, and this will help close the gap.
